FIRST WARD CANVASS VOTER IDENTIFICATION AND REGISTRATION
SATURDAY, JULY 8 ...10 AM – 1 or 2 PM

MEET AT SUTTON’S BBQ 205 MCBAINE (west of Garth and the Library, first street to the north)

Thanks for agreeing to participate in our First Ward kick-off this election season. With Senate, House, and state legislature races, plus stem-cell and minimum-wage initiatives, every vote will make a difference in taking control of our government. The First Ward is central to our city and central to our political effort. The area runs from Clinkscales to College, between Broadway and Business Loop.

We will divide the Ward into fifty grids, and the Democratic Party is preparing maps and walk lists. Our goal is to assure that every eligible voter is registered and to determine each voter’s key issue so that we can design an effective get-out-the-vote (GOTV) message for the November election.

We will meet at Sutton’s, have a 10-15 minute orientation, and then hit the streets. You can work on your area individually, or in pairs, as you prefer. When finished, return to Sutton’s to turn in registration cards and other materials and, if you wish, enjoy the best BBQ in town!

For those of you who participated in our 2004 door-to-door campaign, you know that you are almost always well received and can derive a great deal of satisfaction from participating in politics rather than just complaining about this administration and its policies. For first-timers, canvassing is both rewarding and fun.

One last thing: Help us expand our political machine. Please bring a friend, colleague, or neighbor with you on July 8!
