DFA Blue Missouri Conference a huge success!

Submitted by BillinMidMO on Sun, 08/13/2006 - 4:22pm.

As reported in the Columbia Tribune, the first all Missouri DFA conference which has held yesterday August 12th was a major success.

Nearly 100 people from all over the State turned out on a hot August day to hear and be inspired by Jim Dean and Charles Chamberlain while gathered to discuss organizing a stronger Statewide presence. Candidates for around the State participated in a panel discussion, DFAlink hosts each addressed the crowd and a contact list was generated and shared with all those present. Everyone also received a DVD of the documentary on Jeff Smith's losing bid for Congress "Can Mr Smith go to Congress anymore" which now has the upbeat epilogue that Jeff just won his Primary and is unopposed for a State Senate Seat this fall. The star of the movie and new Senator was on hand as a panel member.
The Tribune Blog has a post about Jeff.
A vote was taken to move ahead with creating, over time, a Statewide organization. This will be facilitated by the new State of Missouri DFAlink site.
Several people were taking pictures of this event...check out the image Gallery for an album devoted to the Conference.
